Nominations were announced for the 2008 Prime Time Emmys recently, and The Simpsons were lauded with two nods.
The show has been nominated for Outstanding Animated Program Less Than One Hour for the episode Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind. Also nominated is composer Alf Clausen for Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (original Dramatic Score) for the episode Treehouse of Horror XVIII.
Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind features the antics of Homer as he tries to piece the last twenty-four hours of his life back together after awakening to an empty house after a night out drinking.
The show's competes with an episode of the short-lived claymation series Creature Comforts, King of the Hill's "Death Picks Cotton", Robot Chicken's Star Wars special, and Spongebob Squarepants' "Inmates of Summer / Two Faces of Squidward."
Clausen's competiton includes musical compositions from episodes of Family Guy, House, Little People Big World, Lost and Pushing Daisies.
Awards will be handed out at the Creative Arts Emmys on September thirteenth.
