talks to appear in an episode of the new Knight Rider series, which premiers
September 24th, 2008. According to Gary Scott Thompson, the executive producer,
he would like to see a scenario where both Michael Knight and the original
black Trans Am KITT (voiced by William Daniels) appear with Knight's son Michael
Traceur (Justin Bruening) and the new shape-shifting car (voiced by Val Kilmer).
However, he states that, "I don't know if it will happen. It's all about
timing."
In other Knight Rider news, a version of KITT was driven by Travis
Kvapil on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 at the NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Bristol,
TN. and came in 24th.
Kvapil stated in a press release, "The television series
'Knight Rider' is a show that everyone can get hooked on. I think it's really
cool that NBC has chosen to reinvent the series for the fall lineup. The best
part about the show was always the car, KITT, and this is amazing that I get to
drive a version of KITT for the night race at Bristol. It's every guy's dream to
feel like they are an action hero, and I get to have that chance under the
lights of Bristol with our No. 28 'Knight Rider' Ford."
