Phone: 1-617-494-660
What:
Arisia
is a well-respected and moderately sized (over 2,000 people)
general-interest SF convention in Cambridge, MA. It is named for a
planet in the
Lensman novels by
E. E. "Doc" Smith.
Arisia's 2009 theme is
The Fabric of Science Fiction. Their web site states, "Woven from many ideas, facts, theories, fairy tales, rumors, and wild
trips of the mind, science fiction, and its close cousin, fantasy,
stretch the imagination. How flexible is your mind? Can you visualize
ideas? Can you explore, adding just a bit of yourself to make something
new, different, and exciting? We'll help stretch the fabric of your
mind – and we hope that you return the favor."
2008 Guests:
Guest of Honor -- writer Walter H. Hunt. He has four books in print,
The Dark Wing,
The Dark Path, The Dark Ascent, and

latest book,
A Song In Stone, will be published just
before the convention.
Artist Guest of Honor -- Dave Seeley, a professional (and very
talented) artist with a substantial portfolio of fantasy/SF work. See
