Fan and Industry awards are rolling in for Doctor Who

Fan and Industry Awards for Doctor Who
The reincarnation of Doctor Who continues to sweep up awards.  The Edinburgh TV Festival announced its annual awards, which are chosen by industry executives, and the BBC has announced that Doctor Who has won "Best Programme" for the second year in a row.

In addition to the industry awards, Doctor Who also won a Hugo at the recent Worldcon.  Hugo awards are voted by the attendees of Worldcon, a mix of professional science fiction  authors plus media and literary fans.  Steven Moffat and Paul Cornell were both nominated for "Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form" for their respective 2007 Doctor Who episodes.  "Blink" won, giving Moffat his third consecutive Doctor Who-based Hugo.

These are in addition to the BAFTA Cymru awards earlier this year, which Doctor Who swept, winning five awards for the show (including "Best Drama Series") and a Who-based "Best Screenwriter" for Steven Moffat.
