This week Rafe returned, Alan left, and Grady tried to fit in, all disastrous in their own way. Nothing good seemed to happen in Springfield, even for viewers at the plot seemed to drag somewhat, ruining the emotional punch of the storylines.

Alan having a blood clot to cause his visions was a letdown. Are the writers going to kill him off, then? The actor, Ron Raines, is a singer and his daughter Charlotte is grown up, but I haven't read anywhere where he's leaving the show. If not, then what miraculous form of science is going to help him live? Will Gus get the credit? Makes sense. And what's up with Alan leaving all of a sudden? You'd think he'd stay for Rafe. Seems to me he caught wind of Jeffrey's case and fled.
 
I like the fact that Grady reported Rafe and made up the kidnapping charge - shows how fake his intentions were during the week. Guiding Light needs more villians in the vein of Roger Thorpe. Unfortunately Kane Manera, although a good actor, is not the caliber of Tom Pelphrey, who played Jonathan Randell and won two Emmys in the role. Grady is not likeable and comes off mean and not angst-ridden like Jonathan. Being left behind and going to foster homes didn't make Cassie go bad, so what's Grady's problem? The writers better show something major from his past like the parental abuse suffered by Jonathan, or just kill him off. Even his brother Cyrus is now likeable.

Olivia and Natalia's relationship is fun to watch. The actresses play well off each other. I hope Remy is used more.
