Someone, Somewhere, Is Probably Offended
Kristen Chenoweth, the Tony award winning actress who plays Olive Snook on Pushing Daisies, has announced that she will record an album 'for the gays.' This announcement leaves this writer craning his neck, looking for someone, somewhere, to be offended.
Had Chuck Norris made this announcement, the world as we know it would probably implode.
But since it's Kristen -- a Tony award winning star of Broadway who is also set to be honored by the Point Foundation (a gay education group) in Los Angeles in September -- it's doubtful many angry forum posts will burn across the Net.
The song list is decidedly campy, with such ditties as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and The Man That Got Away on the track list. Making the hypothetical cut is also a version of Going To The Chapel, included to honor the new same sex marriage laws in California, and not presumably to send hardcore right wingers into seizure.
The Pushing Daisies premiere is set to air October 1 on ABC.
