For those Whedon fans whose collections are not yet complete, just in time for the holidays comes Firefly, the Blu-Ray edition.
Fox, the network that cancelled this show before it barely cleared a season, but seems now hell-bent on making a fortune off it, announced the release on Blu-ray in widescreen 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio on three BD-50 discs.
According to HDR, the list of extras includes new commentary for many of the episodes as well as a featurette, Here's How It Was: The Making of Firefly, Whedon singing the Firefly theme song, Alan Tudyk's audition and special to Blu-Ray, Firefly Reunion: Lunch with Joss, Nathan, Alan and Ron, a featurette.
Recommended price for the set is $89.98, but there is a substantial savings pre-ordering through amazon.com.
