What:

A fan-run anime con located in Arlington, Virginia. Notably, they have two very good bands, the JRock band Versaille and Freezepop. The 2008 con will be the convention's 10th year.

2008 Guests:

Versailles -- JRock band. These guys are hard to describe -- the visual imagery has to be seen to be believed. (If KISS went goth by way of Japan, and then bred with an Anne Rice novel ...) However, all giggling aside, they're fantastic. To see them in action, here's a YouTube offering of one of their music videos. I'd personally love to see them in real life!

DJ SiSen -- music DJ

Freezepop -- pop band. Anime USA's web site describes them well, "Freezepop has always been something of an oxymoron: embraced by both hipsters and nerds; serious about irony; and retro-futuristic. A synth band in a guitar videogame, singing pop songs about rock. And it all somehow makes sense when you listen to the music."

Cherami Leigh -- actor, voice actor. Has had acting roles on Fast Food Nation, The Hottest State, and The Mist, Her voice work includes video games and anime series including roles on Peach Girl, One Piece, Shuffle, Sasami, xxxHolic, Hell Girl, Black Blood Brothers, Witchblade, ShinChan, Mushi Shi, Ouran High School Host Club, Black Cat, Suzuka, School Rumble and Negima. She will also have the role of Mai Taniyama in the upcoming release of Ghost Hunt, and other projects for FUNimation.

Caitlin Glass -- voice actor. Her roles include Winry in Fullmetal Alchemist, Triela in Gunslinger Girl, Hiyono in Spiral, and Yakumo in School Rumble, as well as roles in Negima, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, and BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad.

Antimere Robinson -- graphic designer, voice actor. He designed the packaging for the American DVD releases of Fullmetal Alchemist, Gunslinger Girl, Kiddy Grade, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, Hell Girl, Fruits Basket, Blue Gender: The Warrior, Speed Grapher, Tenchi Muyo! GXP, and Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki. He has also has done voice work for Speed Grapher, Kiddy Grade, Fruits Basket, Burst Angel, One Piece, Beck, Case Closed, Shuffle!, Aquarion, Yuyu Hakusho, and Lupin III.

Patrick Seitz -- voice actor, script adapter and ADR director. He's had roles in Bleach, Paradise Kiss, Saiyuki Reload Gunlock, Tales of Phantasia, Ergo Proxy, Koi Kaze, Eureka 7, R.O.D. the TV, Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate, Fate/Stay Night, Speed Grapher, GunXSword, Beck, Trinity Blood, Kamichu!, and Hare+Guu, plus others. Patrick also adapted and directed the English dubs of Girls Bravo, Kamichu!, and Tales of Phantasia, and adapted about two-thirds of The Melody of Oblivion.

Tristen Citrine -- cosplay. She has worked professionally in the costuming departments for several Las Vegas productions as well as plenty of other special events and fashion shows. Presently, she is an owner of the cosplay themed business, CosWorx, which helps cosplayers find wigs and accessories for their costumes.

Robert and Emily DeJesus -- artists. They own Studio Capsule, which publishes low print run doujinshis, portfolios, animated shorts, and other projects.

Allison Strom -- artist. Has been working on Seven Seas Entertainment's Avalon since 2006.

Matt Herms -- webcomic artist of Sticky Floors.

Dave Lister -- webcomic artist of Paradox Lost.

Ananth Panagariya and Mohammad “Hawk” Haque -- writer and artist, respectively, of the web comic Applegeeks.
