What:

Anime con with some nice guests, and a great venue. I'm not one to normally squee over a hotel, but their con hotel is a Hilton located on a fabulous beach in Florida, and it has a great room rate of $99 double occupancy. Their January date means nice weather and no hurricanes, too. The location of the hotel had me tempted to go even before I read the rest of what they have planned.

Con features a murder mystery, a nice cosplay contest, a "maid cafe" dinner, speed dating, AMV contest, gaming, a talent show, and more.

2009 Guests:

Richard Epcar -- writer, director, actor and voice actor. He has had voice roles on the original Robotech, Ghost in the Shell, Macross, Teknoman, and lots of video games including Star Wars: Empire At War, Kingdom Hearts 2, Xenosaga I, II and III, Warcraft III, Shadow Hearts II, and Lupin III; the latter two games he also directed. As an actor, he's appeared in numerous television series including recurring roles on Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and Santa Barbara and spots on Columbo, Diagnosis Murder, Guns of Paradise, Beverly Hills 90210, Matlock, Who’s the Boss? and Cheers. He's directed the English language voice work on numerous shows, including the first season of Digimon. And this is just an abbreviated list of his work!

Ellyn Stern -- actor and voice actor. She also started out with several roles in the original Robotech series.
Notable anime roles also include (but are not limited to) parts in Ghost in the Shell 2, Armitage III, Vampire Princess Miyu, Digimon, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Movie Trilogy, Lupin III, Macross I, II, III and all sorts of others. Video game roles include Shadow Hearts II and others. She's also appeared on Charlie’s Angels, General Hospital, Santa Barbara, and Days Of Our Lives.

She recently starred with her husband Richard Epcar in the hit play Rumors by Neil Simon which had a very successful run at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills, plus other stage roles.

Vic Mignogna -- a voice actor and music composer/producer who almost needs no introduction in the anime world. He's the English voice of Edward Elric (one of the best-dubbed animes I've ever heard) in Fullmetal Alchemist. Other roles include parts such as Fay in the Tsubasa Chronicle, Dark in DN Angel, and Ikkaku in Bleach. He's also had parts in Full Metal Panic, Dragonball Z, Saiyuki, Peacemaker Kurogawa, Trinity Blood, Raxaephon, Princess Nine, Macross, Streetfighter, Sin, Spriggan, Gasaraki, Noir, Steel Angel Karumi, Orphen, Excel Saga, Evangelion, A.D. Police, Aura Battler Dunbine, Rune Soldier, Neo Ranga, Yu Yu Hakasho, Gamera, Those Who Hunt Elves, Dirty Pair, St. Seiya, Kino’s Journey, Dragonball GT, Angelic Layer, Gravion, Bastof Syndrome, Aquarian Age, Kaliedastar, Case Closed, Kitty Grade, Princess Tutu, Shadow Skills, Moby Dick, and many others -- more than eighty in all.

Ashley Clark -- a multimedia artist and writer who is well known among Southern anime circles. She is known as Anne May Bell on the AnimeBell.com web site and has won numerous awards for AMVs, cosplay, and film editing.
