90210 -- a spinoff off the hit 90's series Beverly Hills 90210 -- will premier on September 8th, 2008, just days after the US premier of September 2nd. The two hour pilot will feature alumni from the original series including Shannen Doherty (Brenda), Jennie Garth (Kelly), Tori Spelling (Donna) and Joe E.

Tata (Nat from the Peach Pit) plus Lori Loughlin (Summerland), Jessica Walters (Arrested Development) and Rob Estes (Womens Murder Club).

This is not the first new show based on Beverly Hills 90210 -- Melrose Place was also a spinoff from it.

The miniseries Merlin, a Shine production made for BBC One in the UK, has also been picked up by NBC in the US and CTV in Canada for airing this winter. TEN will air it in 2009. It takes a contemporary look at the legend of Merlin.
