The latest issue of TV Guide has revealed that the fourth season premiere will air on Thursday, September 18, in its normal timeslot of 9 p.m. In the TV Guide article, Supernatural’s showrunner Eric Kripke drops some tantalizing hints on how the first episode will open and also reveals a few spoilers about what’s in store for the Winchesters during the fourth season.
The show received a nod from the Primetime Emmy Nominations, announced this week. The nomination is for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series for the episode 3.12, ‘Jus In Bello’. Here are the people responsible for the nomination:
Michael E. Lawshe, Supervising Sound Editor
Norval 'Charlie' Crutcher III, Supervising ADR Editor
Karyn Foster, Dialogue Editor
Marc Meyer, Supervising Sound Effects Editor
Timothy Cleveland, Sound Effects Editor
Paul Diller, Sound Effects Editor
Albert Gomez, Sound Effects Editor
Casey Crabtree, Foley Artist
Michael Crabtree, Foley Artist
Dino Moriana, Music Editor
This is Supernatural’s third nomination at the Emmys. In 2006, the show received two nominations, one for Outstanding Music Composition For A Series (original Dramatic Score) and another previous one for Sound-Editing. In 2007, Jensen Ackles submitted a tape for consideration for his work on season 2.
In other award news, former Supernatural writer Raelle Tucker recently won a Constellation Award for Best Overall 2007 Science Fiction Film or Television Script for the season two episode ‘What Is and What Should Never Be’. Tucker, who wrote for Supernatural during the first two seasons has since moved on to HBO’s upcoming vampire show True Blood.
The Constellations Awards are a set of Canadian awards celebrating excellence in science fiction television and film. Supernatural qualified for this award because of its Vancouver filming location, and local film and production crew. The award was presented at the annual Polaris convention in Toronto on July 12, 2008.
Finally, in breaking news, it appears that the CW released some fourth season spoilers in the form of pop-ups during the rerun of the show on July 17. We’ll keep you posted on what those spoilers included.
