Showrunners and actors from CW’s Thursday night shows Smallville and Supernatural will be attending this year’s Comic-Con, being held in San Diego, California July 24-27. Comic-Con is currently the largest (and arguably, the most influential) multi-genre fan convention held in the world, with over 125,000 people attending the event in 2007.
Supernatural has two events at the con, with the first one on Saturday, July 26, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., where actors Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will be signing autographs at the Warner Brothers Booth. The second event will be a Supernatural Screening and Q&A on Sunday, July 26 from 11:15 a.m. -12:15 p.m. Jensen and Jared will be in attendance at the Q&A, along with creator/executive producer Eric Kripke (Boogeyman), co-executive producers Ben Edlund (Angel) and Peter Johnson (Supernatural: Origins comic book series), and supervising producer Sera Gamble (Eyes). They will present exclusive sneak peek footage from the fourth season premiere, answer questions, and show a portion of the special features from the upcoming third season DVD release.
And while he’s not specifically listed under the event, it is expected that Jared Padalecki will be participating in the Friday the 13th sneak peek panel being held Sunday afternoon from 1:00-1:30.
Smallville’s Comic Con schedule kicks off on Friday, July 25 at 6:00 p.m. with some of the show’s VFX supervisors attending the panel “Exceeding Expectations and Exploring New Worlds: Feature Effects for the Small Screen.” And on Sunday, July 27, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. the new Smallville showrunners Kelly Souders, Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer will talk about the year ahead, answer fan questions and give an exclusive sneak peek at clips featuring the new villains for season eight. Veteran Smallville actors Allison Mack and Justin Hartley will also be in attendance at the Q&A and actor Sam Witwer will be introduced to fans at the panel.
Both Supernatural and Smallville have made previous appearances at Comic-Con, and if the past years are any indication, fans attending these panels can expect to see exclusive content related to the shows and will also have the chance to have their burning questions answered directly by the showrunners and actors.
