oh my gosh!!! im sorry if this is rude, but why isn't there going to be more episodes or movies of inuyasha???it was good to finally know if there is going to be anymore episodes, but i was really hoping that the rumors i have heard about there being another season. i am i very big fan of inuyasha and i would really love it if there were more episodes!!! i love the show so much!!! Please answer.

No, you were not being rude. I understand the panic of no more new episodes of a series I love. I myself just watched, only half an hour ago, the last episode of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Well, I think it is the last and I certainly hope not. But the giant THE END screen at the end of the 2 hour special "Sozen's Comet" sent me into a pit of despair (which I am still a bit in). Anyway, as far as I know there will be no new season of Inuyasha. In July 26, 2004 there was an annoucement in ANN that says the TV series is ending in Japan. So far I have yet to see a news article saying otherwise anywhere. A few months ago my sister heard that there is a special in the works. However, the special could be the "Black Tessaiga" itself. I do not know if they will make a 5th movie. Sorry about this, but it looks like Takahashi and all those that work with her is letting Inuyasha go with this as the last special. I hope I am wrong, but...

I heard some news about Rumiko should start the anime Inuyasha after the end of the manga, so if you say that the manga is over, what would be next. I'll be waiting for Inuyasha's "Black Tessaiga" Thanks a lot for the info.

Yea i agree it probably will start up the inuyasha season in japan HOWEVER, it wont get to the u.s. in english translation for another 1year or even 2 years@

The Black Tessaiga is also known as the Meidou Zengetsuha (Spell ckeck???). It's a special attack Tessaiga aquired that started out as just a cresent, but grew to a full circle. It's basically a portal to hell, or a black hole if you will. It is a deffinate clue that they are continuing something, wether it be the anime or a fifth movie no one knows. Perhaps it is just a summary of what happened after the anime ended, meaning chapters 357-558. The manga has ended, resulting in the defeat of Naraku and a happy ending for all. hopefully that alone can give us enough info to determine wether or not their continuing anything at all. The only reason the anime ended, (from what i read that is), is that the producer quit. An interview I found stated that they were "thinking about continuing", so there's still hope!

There have been a lot of rumors nowadays of a new Inuyasha coming back on OVA... i just saw the last episode yesterday and my heart broke!!! They better make more!!!

I have to wonder about how long people will insist the series is not over if there is not a storybook wedding/ending to the InuYasha saga. Yes, the manga is done. And if Takahashi sticks to her guns, the story has reached its conclusion. Anything beyond the last chapter of the manga would just be fan appeasement and not necessarily in line with the events of the story or even within the limits of the characters as she created them. This was a Feudal Fairy Tale, and anyone who knows their fairy tales can tell you that they don't end the way you expect or even want every time. This is because the author is trying to make a point, even if it's just that here is where the story ends. Takahashi has already done the whole end of story montage that includes marriage, children, reunion with friends, etc. in Maisson Ikkoku. (Did I spell that right?) I would have been amazed if she did that whole thing again on Inuyasha. I mean, she'd made it clear about halfway through IY that he was probably going to remain a Hanyou. If the gem were used to turn him to a human, Kikyou had told him it would probably disappear. But when she'd set her plan in motion to destroy Naraku, either that was never going to take place, or it would happen during the cataclysmic destruction of Naraku. Meaning, he and Naraku are in a pitched battle over the jewel, and it would be destroyed. Then, in the midst of the massive outflow of energy, InuYasha would have been purified; his demon half expunged. But that didn't happen because Takahashi wanted to have the final battle take place in a battle of wills between Naraku and Kagome. I applaud her for taking on an unconventional ending that doesn't repeat the ending style she'd already done elsewhere. I fell in love with the series because of the complexity of the character InuYasha on a psychological level, and came to appreciate the whole story when I began to study all the elements that the author had carefully woven into it. It is a masterwork in every sense of the word, and there is plenty for me to study and analyze for years to come. To think the author would go back and add a sappy ending would be like rewriting the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. There's an adage that really applies here: Just because you can, does not mean you should. An ending for the anime would be good, but I would hope they'd exercise restraint and limit how much the story is tampered with after the fact. I know this won't win me points with those who would love a Maisson Ikkoku ending, but I don't mind. I'm a Takahashi fan first, and I respect her chosen fates for her characters. Besides, her best work is done when she makes all the decisions without caving to outside influences or pressure. Forever an IY fan, I remain, Mary Lynn J.
