Waterstone's has released a fac-simile of the 800 word prequel to the Harry Potter stories that J.K. Rowling wrote for charity.

Suffice it to say that sometimes life, in the form of a police car with flashing lights, catches up to the best of us. Most of us can't quite avoid the inevitable with the same panache as two of our heroes, but at least we can read about it.

I don't want to say more, but it's a fun short read. It contains no deep information, no new details on the bigger questions of what happened before, but fleshes out, in a fun way, two characters, one of them a favourite of mine.
