A gifted and talented soul that was fortunate to be shaped and molded in the fires of 80s pop culture. I now spend my free time reading comic books, playing video games, and watching all kinds of movies while impatiently waiting for She-Ra's big comeback.
View all articles by Aubrey Ward IIIThis movie had a lot riding on it. Marvel Studios first major motion picture project. Robert Downey Jr. who is known as much for us turbulant lifestyle along with his stellar acting skills. And Jon Favreau is a talented director but could the indie darling helm a successful comic book based movie?
Yes, yes and heck yeah!!
"Iron Man" is an incredible film. It exceeded all of my expectations, which were pretty low to begin with.
And from there it just gets better. The main attraction of this movie is not the suit. Oh, the suit is a sweet thing of beauty but the real strength of this movie lies in the sharp dialogue and the chemistry between the cast. Remember the crisp "verbalage" in "Juno"? That witty style is continued here.
So with the help of some solid performances and a story that is accessible to all ages and genders "Iron Man" soars above the usual trappings of your typical summer blockbuster. If you like comic book movies then you've already seen "Iron Man" and you're sharing the good news all over town. If you hate comic book movies then you need to see "Iron Man" today. If you hate summer blockbusters in general.....then you really must see "Iron Man" asap.
