“Essentially, it's an epic story of Batman,” said Adams. “And Frank Miller has agreed to dialogue it for me.”
Miller is best known for his character-defining work in 1986's "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns," which presented the familiar character in stark, adult terms that still reverberate in his portrayal today. Unfortunately, Miller is also known for his work on the recent "All-Star Batman & Robin," including a retelling of Batman's origin that went beyond "stark" and into "unintentionally self-parodic." This new project with Adams may be just the ticket for Miller to reconnect with the Batman he helped bring to life.
“I'm sort of re-playing with Batman,” Adams remarked. “In my mind [‘Batman: Odyssey'] was going to be six issues, but I really can't make it less than eight issues. So I'm going to do eight issues, even if I have to do two for free.
“I'm just kidding.”
