Supernatural and Twilight reporter. The first official teaser trailer for the teenage vampire film Twilight debuted in movie theaters this past weekend and has now shown up on Myspace’s Trailer Park.
Based on the best-selling book series by Stephanie Meyers, the film version stars Robert Pattinson (best known for his role as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies) as the eternally young Edward, a vampire who falls in love with mortal Bella Swan, played by Kristen Stewart.
Clocking in at exactly a minute, the trailer gives fans their first look at the interaction between the two as Bella figures out that Edward isn’t the typical teenage boy.
“How long have you been seventeen?”
“Awhile.”
With Bella standing her ground- “I’m not scared of you,” and Edward’s slow, toothy smile and reply of “You really shouldn’t have said that,” this fan thinks the trailer sets a mysterious and slightly creepy tone which captures the atmosphere of the books.
Fan reaction has been generally positive on the many forums and communities dedicated to the Twilight books, with many of the fans who weren’t sure whether the British Pattinson could play an American teenager retracting their doubts now that they’ve seen him in action.
The first official cast photos have also surfaced on the web, and they’re of the younger members of the Cullen vampire family (Emmett, Rosalie, Jasper, Alice and Edward), and Bella.
Twilight arrives in theatres December 12, 2008.
