All sorts of 'Hellboy' news is coming out of NYCC, according to IGN. Yesterday, after a special screening of "Hellboy: Blood and Iron," the team announced they've begun work on a third DTV: "Hellboy: The Phantom Claw," featuring plausibly deniable character Lobster Johnson. Development of the project will depend on strong sales of the "Hellboy: Sword of Storms" DVD, say producers Tad Stones and Mike Mignola.

"If you want to see a Lobster Johnson movie, that's how you gotta do it," said "Hellboy" creator Mignola.

He also confirmed that Johnson is going to be appearing in a solo comic miniseries. No street date was given, but he says the first issue is complete. During the screening of "Blood and Iron," a quick teaser was shown of "Phantom Claw," including a glimpse of Johnson.

Also in demonic news, work is underway on a sequel to the big-screen film. Tentatively tited "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army," it reunites Mignola and director Guillermo del Toro, as well as feature film cast Ron Perlman, Selma Blair, Jeffrey Tambour, and Doug Jones. Expect the film to be released in 2008. Add to that a new video game on the way, and it's a hellish good time for everyone.
