I’ve been writing since I can remember, everything from romance to science fiction. I’ve had some moderate success, but keep the ultimate goal to have novels in print. Meantime, I’ve got my day job as a family law attorney, my night job as parent to three children with special needs, and I write when I can. Find out more at http://awalkabout.wordpress.com

A Step Closer to the Undersea Life?
When you set out to decorate your home or apartment, don’t you want it to reflect YOU? Now you can have a sci-fi style lamp that is created fresh by you every day—the Abyss Table Lamp by Osko and Deichmann.

The 2007 creation in the Kundalini collection looks like something that would be used in an undersea abode, eerily glowing in the darkness. Consisting of over three feet of flexible molded opal polycarbonate that contains a high voltage LED light, one writer compares it to a strand of pearls. The small, round balls give off a muted light, but the real fascination is the notion that you can create sculpture with it.

There is a version that can be suspended from the ceiling as overhead art along with a small dangling spotlight, or the newest version released this month has a round spotlight right in the middle that resembles nothing so much as the little Robot Guard Eye that pops out of Jabba the Hutt’s sanctuary on Tatooine.

More interesting, though, is the table version that you can twist and turn to your heart’s delight, changing its shape every day—or every hour! There’s even a fascinating YouTube video demonstrating the sculpture capabilities.

Prices vary across the online ordering venues, so be careful to stop and compare before you take one of these mysterious creatures home with you!
