After six years on Broadway, 'The Producers' will be closing its curtains this Spring, according to Variety
. The musical, based on the movie about a pair of Broadway producers who try to swindle their investor out of money on what ought to be a complete flop, has been showing dwindling returns for years, bumped by occasional returns of the original stars Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick to the stage. Tony Danza and Hunter Foster currently star in the title roles, Danza for once not as a character with the first name Tony. The show has spawned runs in several cities to mixed reviews, and brought in over $1 billion in sales, so when the curtain closes, the producers of "The Producers" have little reason to mourn as it fades into the sunset.
