Marcia Gay Harden and Toby Jones have signed for Stephen King's "The Mist," according to Variety. They join Thomas Jane, Andre Braugher, William Sadler and Amin Joseph on the production, which has already begun filming, with a planned release later this year.
Frank Darabont is directing from his own script, based on the King short story about people barricaded in a supermarket while a deadly mist outside releases horrifying creatures upon the world. Darabont previously adapted "The Shawshank Redemption" and "The Green Mile" from King's work, so his track record is solid in helping to create Stephen-King-movies-that-don't-suck.

Harden has appeared in many things, though genre fans will recognize her best from "Meet Joe Black" and "Space Cowboys." Jones appeared in "Finding Neverland" and provided the voice of Dobby the House Elf in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."
