"Trying to Communicate" takes a fandom that is drenched in crack (there's a pterodactyl in the Hub, everyone's bi or bicurious, humanoid blowfish drive sportscars, Jack kept someone's hand in a jar as a Doctor Detector, and that's just canon) and then cranks it up to Brobdingnagian proportions by simple addition of a cat.

An LOLcat.

Ianto squeezed his eyes shut. "There's something on my back."

"Y HALO THAR," something said, somewhere above him.

Ianto briefly wondered if he were hallucinating.

"Is it," he asked carefully, "by any chance -- "

"A cat," Owen said flatly.

"There's a cat," Ianto said. "On my back."

"Hello moggie!" Owen said. "Where'd you come from?"

"IM IN UR BASE -- "

"And it's talking."

"SITTIN ON YANTOE."

The story contains spoilers up through "Dead Man Walking," so if you're caught up with the BBC America broadcasts, you should be fine.  But if you like Torchwood when it's embracing the crack, you should definitely read this 'fic.  Silly is good.
