The Gundam franchise leads all others in sales for Bandai Namco, in the company's third quarter of their current fiscal year.
Bandai Namco, incidentally, is the parent company of Bandai Entertainment, Bandai Visual, Sunrise, and a host of other corporations in the entertainment business. And like so many other companies at this time of year, it recently released its financial results for the third quarter of its fiscal year.
And the news? Not surprisingly, the franchise that led all the rest in sales is Bandai’s Mobile Suit Gundam line. It brought in double the amount of sales of the next leading franchise (Power Rangers), and almost triple the third place line (Dragon Ball). When we check out the press release Bandai Namco's sales in general were slightly down, and forecasts for the full year have been lowered a bit. But given the many Gundam-related series, combined with the games, action figures, and toys, we certainly know that the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise will remain with us for a long time, and continue leading the way. And I think that deserves another round of applause, don't you?
