Due to pre-sales exceeding availability X-Japan has decided to hold a third concert night for the “X-Japan Attacks Again 2008 I.V.: Towards Destruction” concert on March 29. The concert originally had the day off in order to allow drummer Yoshiki to rest between performances. However, the band decided to add the third night due to more than 200,000 applications for tickets for the March 28 and 30 concerts. Tokyo Dome can only accommodate 46,000 concert goers a night.
The Einsof Marketing Group started selling tickets to the March 29 concert the weekend of February 16. X-Japan has given the concert night the nickname the “Night of Recklessness”, while March 28 and 30 are named “Night of Destruction” and “Night of Creation” respectively.
For anime fans X-Japan has done the ending theme song to X the Movie and is on the soundtrack for X – X2 Double X OAV before splitting up in 1997. This is a both a reunion concert for the members and a tribute to member Hideto “Hide” Matsumoto on the 10th anniversary of his death on May 2.
This is the first concert X-Japan is having in over a decade. If you can get over to Japan and buy tickets, do so. It promises to be a great performance.
