In tonight's news, actors are being signed for projects again ...
With the strike coming to an end, casting news is starting to roll out again, even for projects that were thought dead in the water.  First up, the much-beleaguered JLA movie.  Rapper Common confirmed to MTV that he's been cast as the Green Lantern.  While comics fans all have their favorite Lanterns, and Hal Jordan tends to win that popularity contest, John Stewart is the face the younger generation associates with the green spandex and matching ring ensemble, thanks to the Bruce Timm Justice League Unlimited series.

Common said, "It's a blessing really, to know that I could potentially be this superhero.  'Justice League' itself is an honor, and Green Lantern is an incredible character to play. It's a blessing to be associated with it.  He continued, "Just being a black person, a black man, playing a superhero is an honor in itself."

Speaking of familiar faces, Corey Haim may be bringing his infamous mug back to the role that made him a household name.  ShockTillYouDrop reports that Haim will be reprising his role as Sam Emerson in "Lost Boys 2" after all.  Haim has already begun filming the scenes, and the movie is still on track for it's direct to DVD release this summer.  There have been murmurs of a limited theatrical release, so all hope is not yet lost for seeing campy vampires on the big screen.

Danny McBride will be stepping into well-known shoes.  He's been cast in the Will Ferrell remake of "Land of the Lost."  MTV says that McBride plays Will, with Ferrell playing Rick Marshall and Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) portraying Holly.

Ferrell said, "We start shooting March 3rd.  It's a great cast: Danny McBride, Anna Friel and myself. I think people will be very excited."

Finally, in the "oh, please let this happen" rumor department, Samuel L. Jackson has said he's more than willing to reprise his role as Mace Windu in any project George Lucas cares to cast him in.  MTV talked to Jackson about his interest and availability for the new CGI-animated "Clone Wars" series.  Jackson replied, "Yeah, absolutely," and confirmed he's been in talks with Lucas' people.  So while we won't be seeing Windu in the new television series (which is set after the events of "Revenge of the Sith," his days of fighting evil may not yet be over.
