Talking cars are more controversial than we thought.
IGN reports that Val Kilmer will be replacing Will Arnett as the voice of KITT in the new "Knight Rider" movie (and possible series). Arnett had apparently completed all his voicework, and everyone was happy with it, until GM stepped in. It turns out Arnett has been doing voicework for General Motors as the "voice of GMC trucks." Snce the new KITT is a Ford, and Ford is going to be advertising heavily on the back of the show, someone raised the "conflict of interest" penalty flag, and Arnett was out the door.
Val Kilmer is known for any number of films, though genre fans probably love him best for his turn in "Willow." With just ten days to go before the movie's February 17th, Kilmer's going to book some serious time in the recording booth.
