"SpiderMan-3" had its ups and down, but at least one character is getting a second chance. IESB is reporting that Eddie Brock aka Venom is getting his own film, hopefully this time getting a chance at development. Marvel, which has made its own deal with the WGA, has been meeting with "several A list writers" to start work on the flick.  No word yet if Topher Grace will reprise the role or if the Venom Symbiote will attach to someone else.  (Feel free to speculate!)

There may be a little trouble with the rights for the chaacter being tied to Sony (a studio still in negotiations with the WGA) but that's for the suits to figure out. What with rumors circulating that the studios and writers are close to reaching an agreement, it may not matter.
