Note to AMPTP: The Oscars Need You to Negotiate
The winners of this year's Golden Globe Awards were just announced at a "press conference," in order to get around the restrictions imposed on the ceremony by the Writers Strike. "Atonement" was the surprise winner this year, along with "Mad Men," picking up several prizes. Is this a preview of the (possibly also not-to-be-broadcast) Oscars? Does anyone really care without the pomp attached?
