NBC's re-imagining of 1970's hit The Bionic Woman has just found its title character in actress Michelle Ryan, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Ryan has appeared in several British productions, most notably the BBC soap EastEnders, where she played Zoe Slater.
Of interest to genre fans was her role in the short film "Cashback," which starred Sean Biggerstaff (Oliver Wood in the "Harry Potter" films).

The new "Bionic Woman" will be an update of the earlier premise: a bright young woman (Ryan) is critically injured and her body modified and enhanced by the addition of $50 million worth of technological components. Like the original series, the new one will probably focus on fighting crime and international spies and terrorists, while showing off Ryan in great outfits.
