At the Rose Bowl Parade yesterday, fans supporting the WGA took their message to the heavens themselves. In a move designed to garner more publicity and support for the striking members of the Writers Guild of America, fans at Fans4Writers.com paid for skywriting over the parade (backup plan: over the Rose Bowl itself).  Back in November, a group of Battlestar Galactica fans had put forth the notion, but the costs were prohibitive.  However, when Skytypers had a last-minute cancellation, they contacted the fans and even offered a price reduction ($6250 instead of $20,000).

The four messages went live at 9 A.M. local yesterday:

In order to fund the skywriting, a single fan put the cost on her credit card, and Fans4Writers is holding an auction and soliciting donations to help pay her back.  Please consider donating or checking out some of the auction items, which include signed posters from James Marsters and the "Serenity" cast, as well as Battlestar Galactica merchandise.

Firefox News strongly supports the WGA members, and applauds the efforts of Fan4Writers as they tell the AMPTP that fair is fair, and unfair is unacceptable.
